Hinsdale Brattleboro Bridge

The people of Hinsdale, NH and Brattleboro, VT want a new bridge across the Connecticut River between their two cities to be more than just the solution to a traffic problem.  They want this major public structure to enhance their view of the River and enrich the experience of passage.

Washington Street Bridge

Washington Street Bridge– Dover, NH.  An old downtown embraces a new development.  To get there, a new bridge is required.  An ordinary river crossing like hundreds around the State won’t do.  The City of Dover called upon us and our partners, Louis Berger Group, to propose designs that would make the bridge an enhancement to the city center, a destination as well as a passage.

Concord Bus Stop Shelters

Riders waiting for the bus in downtown Concord have a view of some of the city’s finest buildings-the State House, the State Library, the Clock Tower and the Sheraton Building.  What they do not have is shelter from the weather.  CNCA has been commissioned by the City to develop designs for downtown shelters that will both offer cover from the storm and honor their architectural neighbors.

URS Forest Service Administrative Building

The US Forest Service is planning a new local and district headquarters as well as a visitor's center in Campton, NH.  CNCA is part of a team assembled by URS Corporation to produce three alternate schemes exploring different design options.  The 30,000 sf "high performance" building will be designed according to principles of sustainability and the requirements of a LEED Silver certification.

Company C

After receiving national attention for its 'store within a store' at Kate's Paperie in New York's SoHo district, a growing textile design company decided to pursue similar opportunities nationwide. C.N. Carley Associates (designers of the Company C showroom in Concord, NH ), was retained to develop the tools; planning prototypes, custom casework design and three dimensional modeling, needed to create signature retail spaces across the country.

New Hampshire Political Library/ Franklin Pierce House.

An historic building in the city’s historic district joins with a new institution dedicated to the political history of the state.   Survival depends on adaptation but the integrity of the past is also essential.  A carefully resolved addition and site plan is the solution.

Holy Trinity Church

A long established Greek Orthodox church in the Capital City is growing and in need of space.  The solution:  a revamped plan with full access for all and modern facilities for social activities and Christian  Education.

Representatives Hall

Venerable Representative’s Hall in The New Hampshire Statehouse was showing its age.  Crumbling plaster, worn carpets, and inefficient lighting combined with an outdated ventilation system all pointed to the need for improvement.   CNCA is developing plans and specifications for restoration and renewal of all of the visible elements along with an upgrade of the heating and ventilating that will only be evident in a new level of comfort.

Camp Coniston Bath House

A classic New Hampshire summer camp needs a modern bath house that fits with the rustic mood of camp and the expectations of 21st century campers and their families.  This double unit is simple, clean, well lit and open to the fresh air.

Westwind Condominiums

A small site offers a big opportunity in a growing and prosperous community by the sea.  The design challenge is to provide residences for the four families without disturbing the scale and fabric of a single family neighborhood.  The challenge is met by placing dormered houses to the rear of the site and leaving the original single family house in place.

New Hampshire Public Radio
